Celebrating 50 Years of Harry's Surfing Life

Harry was 14 years old, living in Camarillo.  His parents also had a beach house in Oxnard.  Harry still dreams about that beach house.  He was an original Gremmie, hanging out every minute he could at Tom Morey's Surfshop in Ventura.  Running for sandwiches, sweeping the dust, anything just to be a part of the surf scene.  Morey picked a few of his shop gremmies to be "judges" for the first pro surf contest.  This meant timing how long the surfer was on the nose, thus the weights place on the tail.  That must not have worked well, we don't see anything like it today.  Oh yeah, riding the nose is still only held in esteem by a few classic longboarders today.

My latest off the easel, I think I'll change the horizon down to the point of the rock and then call this done.
